The 48-hour London flagship hack — part one of the Big Screen Hack: Cannes 2026 programme — just wrapped. Two tracks (Builder Hack + Filmmaker Hack) ran side by side at our central London venue with online entries from around the world. Kick-off 6pm Friday, submissions closed 7pm Sunday. Every film that shipped is below.

The format

Two tracks. one room.

Builders and filmmakers both welcome on either track. Engineers brought the stack, filmmakers brought story instinct, mentor surgeries ran throughout. The strongest teams mixed both disciplines.

Track 01 · Builder Hack

Build a tool in 48 hours

Shipped a tool, technique, or approach the industry can use — with the newest creative AI on the planet. Ships: a new piece of cinema-grade software.

Track 02 · Filmmaker Hack

Make a film in 48 hours

Developed, storyboarded, shot and cut a short film in a weekend. One theme revealed live, mentor surgeries throughout. Ships: one short film.
