Big Screen Hack shortlist
An absurdist, retro-inspired luxury commercial in which an elaborate Venetian dunking ritual proves there's a much easier way to get wet.
Private event during BFI London Film Festival week. Adults only (18+).
The films
Some were made before the hack and entered, but most were made during the week itself, and the quality was outstanding. The best of them premiere here, before anyone else has seen them.
The screening programme will be announced before the event.
The prize
StoryMachine funds development. When distributed, 50% of advertising revenue is shared by the maker and backing partners.*

The room
This isn't a quiet multiplex. The filmmakers are in the audience, watching their work on an IMAX screen with you.
30 judges from film, VFX, advertising and AI studios picked the shortlist.
Act two
Christopher Nolan's film of one of the oldest stories we have, and the first feature shot entirely with IMAX film cameras. It plays on the same screen, straight after the newest films in London.
It has been sold out at the IMAX for most of 2026. Your ticket includes it.
The Science Museum lists its 70mm screenings of The Odyssey as sold out for 2026 (checked 12 October 2026). The artwork here is ours, not from the film. Big Screen Hack isn't connected to the film or its makers.

Last time
Our last hack ended with the films on the big screen at Cinéum in Cannes. Since then they've been recognised at festivals in Montréal, Los Angeles and Warsaw, and the winners have gone on to paid work off the back of it.
Big Screen Hack is independent. It runs during the BFI London Film Festival but isn't part of the official programme.
